The final instalment of the Mortal Instruments series and Jace has been empowered with the “Heavenly Fire” possibly the only thing that can stop Sebastian and his evil Shadowhunters, however, he doesn’t have a clue how to use it and he is a danger to himself and everybody around him in the meantime.
This instalment kicks off quite brutal with the death of one of the supporting characters which I was totally unprepared for. The death challenges the loyalty of the downworlders with the Shadowhunters are they are encouraged to denounce their loyalty in order for safety; which is also just not guaranteed.
It is a dramatic finale which sees a lot of betrayal and unexpected twists. And I love that it actually finished. A whole chunk at the end of the book was literally just to round off the story without doing a ‘one year later.’ I know there are other stories from the shadow hunter world and I am a little bit curious who they’re about.
I can’t lie though, I am glad to be finished this series as it seems to have taken me a lifetime to read it. Ready to get into something new!
